Classic Radio Series
The History of Our Newly Remastered Radio Theater from the “Golden Age” of Hollywood
Produced by Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., Family Theater radio plays originally aired on Mutual Broadcasting System in February 1947 and were some of the longest running radio shows, broadcasted until 1968. The radio plays, meant to promote family unity and prayer, are still relevant today.
The series employed top writers and musical talent, and featured many well-known actors and actresses of the Golden Age of Hollywood, including Bing Crosby, Loretta Young, Gregory Peck, James Stewart, Bob Hope, Lucille Ball, Raymond Burr, Louise Beavers, Charlton Heston, Ann Blyth, Shirley Temple, Jack Benny, Gene Kelly, Natalie Wood, and Betty White.
