In this month's faith & family media news: The Chosen Adventures lands a Prime Video premiere date; Minno and Family Theater Productions announce new kids' series Guillermo & Will; Bau, Artist at War hits theaters; Sesame Street comes to YouTube; and All Creatures Great & Small releases its Season 6 trailer.
The Chosen writer Ryan Swanson is writer, executive producer, and showrunner for the new animated series The Chosen Adventures, with The Chosen creator Dallas Jenkins also as executive producer, under his 5&2 Studios banner.
The 14 11-minute episodes start streaming on Prime Video (also the streaming home of The Chosen) on Oct. 17.
Here's how Prime Video describes the show:
The Chosen Adventures follows 9-year-old Abby and her best friend Joshua as they navigate life in the ancient city of Capernaum. When the children encounter a wise craftsman and teacher, Jesus of Nazareth, he helps them change the way they see the world, and they help spread his influence far and wide (among the 7-to-12-year-old set). And did we mention that Abby has a talking sheep?
Jonathan Roumie, who plays Jesus in the hit Gospels-based series The Chosen, reprises that role here. Among the rest of the voice cast are Paul Walter Hauser (Black Bird, Cruella), Danny Nucci (Titanic), and singer/actress Jordin Sparks.
On Oct. 10, Christian-focused kids streamer Minno launches Guillermo & Will, a new puppet series that uses two worms who are best friends -- one who speaks English, and one who speaks Spanish -- to introduce littles to the wonders of God's world in two languages.
Produced in partnership with Family Theater Productions, and filmed in our own studios on Sunset
Said Minno:
“At Minno, we’re honored to create a platform for world-class creators like Donna and Dan—talented artists who bring heart, humor, and deep meaning to children’s storytelling. Guillermo & Will is a joyful expression of God’s love and friendship across cultures, and it reflects our broader vision to raise the bar in Christian children’s media. We’re especially grateful to partner with Family Theater Productions, whose legacy of redemptive storytelling aligns beautifully with our mission to help kids and families experience Jesus every day,” said Erick Goss, CEO and Co-Founder of Minno.
And, from Family Theater:
“For more than 75 years, Family Theater Productions has created media to help families grow in faith. Guillermo & Will carries that legacy forward—offering joyful, faith-filled storytelling for children, with special care for families, including Catholic and Spanish-speaking audiences, who seek content that reflects their culture and values,” says Father David L. Guffey, C.S.C., National Director of Family Theater Productions.

Directed by Sean McNamara (Soul Surfer, Reagan, the upcoming Soul on Fire), Bau, Artist at War, currently in theaters, unearths a WWII tale that transcends its Holocaust setting.
From the website:
Bau, Artist at War is the extraordinary true story of Joseph Bau, a man who defied the darkness of the Holocaust with art, humor, and an unbreakable spirit. A gifted artist and master forger, Joseph risked his life to save others, using his talent to create false documents that helped fellow prisoners escape certain death. But in the depths of despair, he discovered something even more powerful…love.
In the Plaszow concentration camp, amid relentless brutality, Joseph met Rebecca - a woman whose courage matched his own. Their secret wedding, held in the very heart of hell itself, was a defiant act of love in the face of unimaginable horror—an event later immortalized in Schindler’s List.
Years later, when Joseph is called to testify against the sadistic Nazi officer who tormented him, he is forced to relive the horrors of his past. But through it all, he draws strength from the love that saved him, the art that sustained him, and the unyielding will that kept him alive.
A gripping war drama, a daring espionage thriller, and one of the greatest love stories of our time, Bau, Artist at War is a testament to the power of resilience, the triumph of the human spirit, and the unbreakable bonds that even war could not destroy.
Says Sister Nancy Usselmann of the Daughters of St. Paul, a k a the "Media Nuns":
What McNamara has created is not just another war film, but a story that resonates in every human person who dares to hope when all seems lost. He buoys up the human spirit in the face of monstrous inhumanity through an inspiring love story, applicable for a world today that seems to forget history. Bau: Artist at War reminds us that hope is something that cannot be taken from a person. The one who hopes, loves. And the one who loves, lives.
After decades on PBS, a decade on HBO, and, now, a streaming home on Netflix, the venerable children's show Sesame Street will be bringing more classic episodes to YouTube, which has struck a deal with producer Sesame Workshop.
Under the expanded partnership, starting in January 2026, YouTube will acquire the largest video library of Sesame Street, including hundreds of classic episodes.
New episodes will continue to premiere on Netflix, starting Nov. 10, and on PBS and the PBS KIDS digital platforms; Netflix has about 90 hours of episodes in its library; and HBO Max still has some library episodes.
But YouTube's partnership with Sesame Workshop includes more than just Sesame Street.
From The Hollywood Reporter:
YouTube says that over the past year Sesame Street content viewership was up by more than 130 percent, topping 5 billion views on the platform.
Perhaps even more notably: Under the partnership, Sesame Workshop, will lead seminars for next YouTube creators “to share best practices on how to create content that is entertaining while also promoting learning.”
Here's the most recent video from YouTube, looking forward to Halloween:
The warmhearted, family-friendly British-produced series All Creatures Great and Small, based on James Herriot's beloved books about a country veterinarian in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1930s, has also been a hit on PBS' Masterpiece.
Season six of the show comes back to Masterpiece on Sunday, Jan. 11. Here's what PBS knows so far:
Season 6 of All Creatures Great and Small takes us back to the rolling hills of the Yorkshire Dales, where life in Darrowby is starting to find its rhythm again as the war in Europe winds down. It’s 1945, and the Skeldale family is stepping into a new chapter — one shaped by change, hope, and the opportunities that come with a more peaceful future.
There are new veterinary cases to tackle, growing families, and a few new faces around town. But at its core, the show continues to celebrate what it always has: community, compassion, and connection. The war may have left its mark, but the people of Darrowby keep showing up for each other — and their creatures.
