Helping the Faithful in the ‘Next America’
Father Willy Raymond, CSC, was a participant in the Second Annual Conference of the Napa Institute in July. Entitled “Catholics in the Next America,” the three-day event was designed to provide Catholic leaders with the information they need to advance the faith in today’s emerging secular society.
Held in Napa Valley, the conference was hosted by Rev. Robert Spitzer, S.J., President of Napa Institute, and Timothy R. Busch, Esq., CEO of the Institute. Speakers included Father Spitzer, Archbishop Charles J. Chaput, OFM, Cap., Bishop Robert C. Morlino, Bishop Robert F. Vasa, Bishop Salvatore J. Cordileone, Rev. Robert Barron, Rev. Joseph D. Fessio, SJ, Rev. Norbert Wood, O.Praem., Peter Kreeft, Hugh Hewitt, Frank J. Hanna III, Dr. Tim Gray, Dr. Elizabeth F. Yore and Leonard A. Leo.
The Napa Institute prepares Catholics to face the challenges posed in the “next America” – to continue the work of the Apostles and the Bishops, heeding Christ’s call for ongoing evangelization. It was formed to lead participants to a deeper understanding of the truth behind the Faith, emboldening Catholics to live and defend their faith with a peaceful confidence that is borne out of education, fellowship and spiritual enrichment.
