Voz Latina Radio wins two prestigious Gabriel Awards

07/21/05 -- Family Theater’s Voz Latina: Radio for the Latino Explosion will receive two more Gabriel Awards: one for its half-hour drama /El Navío de los Corazones /(The Ship of Hearts) in the Arts/Entertainment Radio, National Release category, and one for its nationally released one-minute public service announcement Tesoros Escondidos (Hidden Treasures).

These are special because the scripts were written by Family Theater staff members.  Monika Moreno, Director of the Angelus Awards Student Film Festival and a scriptwriter, wrote the drama script, and Eleazar “Elli” Bazini, the Voz Latina Radio sound engineer and music composer, wrote the one-minute spot in Mexico City where it was taped using Mexican actors. Melba Nova, the former director of the Radio Department, directed both programs.
